The roughly $850 million project covers the political and personal realms of the nation’s first Black president. The sprawling campus feature the museum tower a new library, basketball court and picnic area with grills.

THE RIVER JOURNEY
10.13, TUESDAY LATE AFTERNOON
A 90-minute chartered immersion on the Chicago River, co-narrated by Friends of the Chicago River, the only organization dedicated to restoring the Chicago-Calumet River system.
Participants will use the river as a working model for navigating complexity and interdependence. Through story, guided observation, peer dialogue, and reflection, participants will read the river as a living system and explore what its patterns reveal about adaptation, relationship, stewardship, and collective action.
